(2) Scroll down and find Local Player Settings
(3) Select List
(4) Find Folders in the scan section
(5) Tap Add at the bottom of the screen
(6) Select the folder you want to hide and press OK
(7) Check the box and then Select Hide option at bottom of screen
Wow, You are Done. Your folder is hidden in MX Player media list (home screen of MX Player), go back and check. Keep in mind that this method will hide a selected file or folder in this application only, not in andorid file system (in your image gallery or any other video/audio applications).
Method 2: Hide a folder in MX Player
If you are going to hide a folder in MX player using this method then your folder will be hidden in whole device. Lets start the process.
(1) Open MX player appliation and select the folder you want to hide. Now, tap on pencil icon to rename the selected file or folder.
(2) You will see a textbox to enter a new name of selected file or folder. You just have to add a dot at the starting of file/folder name. After that tap on OK. And your file/folder will be hidden.
What you have to note is that if you rename any file or folder in MX player then that file/ folder will also be renamed in android file system. Means you will not find that renamed file/folder in any place of the device. To display/show that hidden file/folder in mx player, please follow the steps given below.
Show a Hidden Folder in MX Player
If you have hidden any folder or file, then sometimes you will need to access it. So let’s see how to get that hidden folder back. To show your hidden folder, follow the first four steps in the process given here, then check the box and press Show at the bottom of the screen. You can also Remove the folder name from that list.

(3) Select List
(4) Navigate a little further down and Under the Scan section,
- Untick the checkbox of Recognize .nomedia
- Tick the checkbox of Show hidden files and folders
Whoaaaaa, Your hidden files and folders are now visible. But please note that if you reverse the checkboxes in last step then all of your hidden files and folders will be hidden again.
